MEET CREEKSIDE ANIMAL CLINIC LTD.’S VETS
DR. MURRAY FLOCK
Having spent his early years in Ontario, Dr. Murray Flock earned a B.Sc. from the University of Toronto and his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Guelph, prior to moving to the North Okanagan in 1980. In 1986, Murray established Creekside Animal Clinic Ltd., moving the hospital to its current location 6 years later. Attracted to the veterinary profession by its broad mandate, with a focus on comparative medicine, he has maintained a varied interest in a number of species. Time away from the clinic tends to be spent outdoors, much of it running with his Australian shepherd/border collie, Tess, in Kalamalka Provincial Park.
DR. BRIAN MCONIE
Dr. Brian McOnie graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Saskatchewan in 1988 and the University of California, Davis in 1991. Brian joined Dr. Murray Flock in 1991 at Creekside Animal Clinic Ltd, becoming a partner in 1995. Brian enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine and deeply values the relationships that have been built with our clients, and the trust they have placed in us to care for their animals over many years.
Cross country skiing, cycling and, most recently, paddle boarding are pursuits he enjoys in our beautiful North Okanagan.
DR. SIETSKE RIJNEN
Dr. Sietske Rijnen studied veterinary medicine at the University of Utrecht in the Netherlands and graduated in 2006. Ready for a new adventure she immigrated to Canada and joined Creekside Animal Clinic. She became a partner in 2017. She enjoys the diversity and challenges that are part of her daily work schedule. She loves the interaction with the animals as well as the people. When not at work you can find her on the agility field training her dogs or teaching others. She also enjoys mountain biking, trail running, hiking, Nordic skiing, snowshoeing, and renovating her house.
DR. JOCELYNE CHALIFOUR
Dr. Jocelyne Chalifour graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 2022, and is thrilled to join the Creekside Animal Clinic team! She is originally from Calgary, Alberta where she grew up around lots of animals. Jocelyne developed a deep appreciation for mixed animal practice throughout her veterinary education. Her current areas of interest include small animal behaviour, small ruminants, surgery, and honey bee medicine.
In her free time, Jocelyne enjoys hiking, camping, and playing ringette. New to the clinic in August 2022, she looks forward to meeting the clients, patients, and living in the Okanagan.
DR. CHARISSA RIDDERBROEK
Dr. Charissa Ridderbroek was born and raised in the Netherlands and obtained her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Utrecht in 2006. She moved to Canada in 2007 and she has lived and worked in the Okanagan ever since. She truly believes that your furry friends are part of the family. Charissa is committed to making every pet and their owners feel comfortable while providing the best possible care. Outside of work, you can find Dr. Charissa on the trails with her partner Bryce and her dog Zoof. She is also passionate about traveling and exploring nature and wildlife in other countries.
DR. JENNY DUNN
Dr. Jenny Dunn grew up in Vancouver, BC. She attended the University of Guelph where she completed a Bachelor of Science and was an active member on the women’s varsity rugby and soccer teams. She continued at Guelph completing a Master of Science in Epidemiology before attending the University College Dublin for her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. Although her main clinical interest is farm animal medicine, Jenny places great importance in developing close relationships with clients and their pets- big and small! Outside of work is spent playing soccer or exploring the beautiful Okanagan!
